How sourcing works

FrameGate Sourcing Factory Quote and Scope Review

FrameGate Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner. A leisure homes search is the reference, not an identity. This service compares similar prefabricated residential products and does not claim to supply the original brand.

The work starts when a business buyer wants factory quotations that can sit side by side. Each supplier receives the same use, footprint, code jurisdiction, quantity and destination. Price is read only after the scope line is named.

Buyer and supplier packets spread on a table beside a house module drawing

Four checks that make quotations comparable

Clipboard listing house use and room layout

Write the buyer task first

Record who will occupy the building, whether it is permanent or relocatable, and the room layout the project actually needs. A brand name does not answer those points. If the project will expand later, say so, because a later module joint is a different connection detail than a one-time set.

Wind and snow notes marked on a site plan

Keep design criteria explicit

Ask the supplier to state the wind speed, wind exposure category, ground snow load, seismic design category, design live load and design dead load it used. If those values are not known yet, the quotation should say the assumption rather than imply a code approval. IBC or IRC applicability is a question for the authority having jurisdiction, not a badge this desk can award.

Scope columns for shell, delivered, installed and turnkey

Split the commercial boundary

Shell packages, delivered sets, installed buildings and turnkey scopes are not one price. Freight, tax, foundation interface, stairs, canopies and utility rough-in should be their own lines. A low unit figure that omits the crane lift plan cannot be ranked against a figure that includes set and stitch.

Document stack of drawings and a welding procedure cover

Request documents for the quoted system

Ask which drawings, calculations and material certificates apply to the exact system, plant and project. A homepage mention of AISC 360, AWS D1.1, IAS AC472 or ISO 9001 is a prompt to request the file, not evidence that the quoted house already carries it. Cold-formed steel and hot-rolled steel grades belong on the submittal, with coating mass stated.

Fields every supplier should answer

A buyer can add an optional USD budget as a per-unit or whole-order figure, plus a preference for premium, mid-range, budget-friendly or undecided suppliers. That preference is not a rating of any factory.

Questions buyers raise while the brief is open

Scope

Freight, duties, installation labor, foundation work, utility tie-ins and optional finishes should not hide inside a house unit price. Mark each line included, excluded, optional or still awaiting confirmation.

Documents

Hand the same packet to each factory

Use the form to send product format, quantity, destination, timing and the documents you want back. FrameGate Sourcing organizes the questions. It does not stamp drawings or close the purchase for you.

  • Same footprint and height for every reply
  • Loads left blank when they are unknown
  • Scope line named before price is discussed
  • Deviations recorded for your approval

Include specifications, quantity, destination and delivery timing. Shell, delivered, installed and turnkey prices are different scopes.
